I was born in the former Czechoslovakia and now live and work in Vancouver, Canada. My art is rooted in a bundle of impulses: I like exploring the boundaries between representation and abstraction, I look for new ways of capturing hand/arm gesture, and generally like to mix my media and juggle my tools in a quest for new approaches to the traditional subjects of figures, faces and landscapes; I am influenced by surrealism, expressionism, cubism...
